Our trip on Amtrak's California Zephyr in March took us to Sacramento and Yosemite Park. I will be working on this as I have some extra time, posting photos plus commentary. Keep watching for updates. |

Quotations are gathered from a variety of sources. They are humorous, inspirational, political or thought-provoking. And although I don't always change them every day, I do keep them updated somewhat frequently. |

This is one of my favorite websites for learning html. Her website has changed over the years, so this brings you to her homepage. Scroll down to find the white box with Annabella's HTML help and click on that. There are great tutorials on the basics that are easy to understand, yet comprehensive enough so that you are able to make a great website. |

In 2006, Stan the Dinosaur visited Quarry Hill. From March 1 to March 31, 2008,
three replica skeletons from the
Black Hills Institute were at Quarry Hill. A plioplatecarpus, elasmosaurus, and archelon were very popular also.
I will get photos up in the near future. Soon, soon I promise.
Check out their website, Quarry Hill Nature Center for great information. Click on the button to see some photos at Quarry Hill. |

Once your child learns how to read, it is still important to read aloud to him or her. It will help foster a love for reading and more importantly, increase their vocabulary, an important prerequisite to being able to read independently. Jim Trelease's website was one of ALA's award winning sites in 2003. There's a wealth of information here, including "TV, DVD, computers, & school scores", "No Dentist Left Behind", and something that is mind boggling, Meaningful Differences (32 million word difference). Also at this website is information about NCLB, censorship, and books on tape. Jim has retired from public speaking now, to spend time with his family, but his website still has excellent information. Thanks Jim for all your efforts through the years. |

I have included a few websites to help you learn to speak Spanish. Sorry, the "Stories from Alaska Students" link has changed, so I will have to re-do that page. The other links should work fine, though. Did you know that Community Ed offers Spanish classes? Stop by their office at Northrop to learn more and to find out when the next class starts. La profesora es muy inteligente y la clase es interesante y agradable. |

The ebay website has something for everyone. It's fun to just browse a bit to see what people are buying and selling. I have bid on items that I couldn't find in the stores such as a favorite whirling sprinkler, old songbooks, and vintage apron patterns. |
